Steven Daly: Winner of the Programmed Award for Village Manager of the Year 2021

Affable. Relatable. Compassion. Likable. Integrity. Honesty. Enthusiasm. Incredible care. Exceptional communication. Professional management.  Like-minded community. Companionship. Well located retirement village. Beautiful age-friendly homes. Stunning streetscapes. Premium facilities.

This was just some of the praise for the age-friendly community and person-centred services Steven Daly manages every day at Arcadia Waters Maddington (WA).

Recognised as world class, Australia’s retirement living sector designs, builds and provides more affordable, healthier and safer homes and health and wellbeing services for about 210,000 seniors.

As the much-loved village manager for local residents, Steven became the national champion at the National Retirement Living Awards 2021 held at a gala event on the Gold Coast earlier this year.

Privileged. Surprised. Honoured. Proud. Humbled. Visible. Valued.

These were some of the feelings Australia’s best village manager felt.

He also pointed out that it was also a win for the team who worked tirelessly to ensure residents’ had the best retirement services and care options possible, especially during the COVID-19 public health protocols, while also promoting industry best practice.

There is a significant – and growing – body of evidence demonstrating the health and social benefits that can be realised by living in well-designed, age-friendly communities. Indeed, people who live in an age-friendly community feel more secure, happy, healthy, active, independent and in-control.

The sponsor of the Award for Village Manager of the Year Award is Programmed, which offer person-centred care services from basic housework to specialist nursing and everything in-between.
